SHORT BIO

Franco Stivali is Chief Innovation Officer at Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane, responsible for the definition and evaluation of guidelines for the identification, planning and monitoring of innovation initiatives and for the participation of FS Group representatives in national and international innovation working groups.

Always in FS Group, he has been Strategic Planning Manager at Trenitalia and Investment Planning and Evaluation Manager in FS Italiane, focusing his activities in market analysis, business plan simulation, definition and evaluation of long and mid-term Investment Plan and monitoring of major investment projects.

He holds a master degree in Chemical Engineering and a PhD in Materials Engineering from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”.

Previously he has been responsible for the development programs of a company of SNIA – FIAT Group, operating in the advanced composite materials production technologies.

Until 2001 he worked at the ENI Group as manager, inter alia, of investments control and strategic planning of Engineering, Construction and Services, as well as international development of photovoltaic energy production, business analyst and project manager.

He has been lecturer in composite material technology at University of Rome “La Sapienza” and teacher in several educational courses for managers.
